In my work, I respond to landscapes, and create connections between natural science, architecture, and the human body. I paint on photographs, pair paintings with digital prints, and manipulate images in order to explore the space between the mechanical and handmade. I use images of landscape, its structures and maps, as a basis for abstraction. I transform anatomical, topographical, and mechanical systems, and create relationships with art historical precedents and scientific theories. In my mixed-media artwork, space often appears simultaneously internal and external, macroscopic and microscopic, or flat and deep.
